Mapping
“Maps do not represent reality, they create it”
Gerard Pietrusko is the professor of the course: Mapping – Geographic representation + Speculation. Beyond his very good pedagogical skills to deliver the class, the notion of mapping as a tool of design–representation is immersing me in deep water where I don’t want to scape. It’s fascinating and risky the manipulation of geographic datasets to transfer temporal ideas in permanent designs.
Finally, and this is the real intention of the post, is to show my first basic, simple, and haggard attempt to map flooding areas in the world. Hope in one year, in the fourth term, I can produce much better maps.
